Prayag Sangeet Samiti (Allahabad) is an institute imparting education in Hindustani Classical music, Established in the year 1926 on the day of Maha Shivratri by Deshraj Major (Dr.) Ranjit Singh, Late Satyanand Joshi and Late Baijnath Sahai. It awards its own certificates and diplomas. This Samiti is an organization registered under the Indian Societies Registration Act of 1860 and was founded with the aim of propagating the cause of Indian Classical Music in India, vocal and instrumental music streams, the Sangeet Samiti of Prayag has been playing the role of torch-bearer in classical music.
Campus Of Prayag Sangit Samiti-
The Samiti have two magnificent buildings. The first building was constructed in South Malaka (Allahabad) in the year 1936. In 1955 The Construction of the second building was completed in the local Alfred Park Allahabad. The Samiti owns a mini auditorium in the Alfred Park building with a seating capacity of 200 spectators. The Samiti owns a beautiful Muktangan, a cultural dream land with its grassy terraces, innumerable and flower beds, water fountains in the premises of Alfred Park Building, with a seating capacity of 2500 spectators.
