Allahabad Fort was constructed by Emperor Akbar in 1583. This fort was constructed under the region of Akbar, is beautiful and is biggest of all.This fort known for its unique design is situated on the banks of river Yamuna. Now this fort is mainly used by Indian Soldiers.
Some places of this fort have been prohibited for common people and visitors. According to the history this fort has ‘Akshay Vat (Forever living tree) because this tree is situated on the prohibited area of Fort, that’s why if anybody wishes to see that tree, that person has to take special permission from authority. Only then that person is allowed to see that tree otherwise not.
One more interesting thing in this fort is ‘Grand Ashok pillar, which is made from ‘ Balua Rock’ and is 10.6 meter high. Beside this ‘Saraswati Koop’ is also located in this fort. The Ashok Pillar was constructed in 232 BC. According to the legend, this Ashok Pillar holds an very special place in history. Also, the source of River Saraswati is considered from ‘Saraswati Koop’
